Vertical Fire Curtains
Description:
A Fire Curtain is a fire resistant product that is used to fire separate and compartment buildings. The curtain consists of a fire resistant fabric which is wound on to a steel tube that is housed in a steel head box. It is held out of the way using electronic control and motor drive systems during normal use of the building.
In the event of fire the Fire Curtain deploys within steel side guides due to the steel weighted bottom bar attached to the fabric. The finished product is a Coopers FireMaster Fire Curtain.
The Fire Curtain must be fixed to a fire rated structure and completely close off the opening that it is protecting. Fire Curtains are normally replacing a traditional building element such as a fire door, fire shutter or fire rated wall and therefore it is essential that they close in the event of fire. It is critical that a Fire Curtain system is Gravity Fail Safe.
